Making Education Financially Accessible

Scholarships serve as a tool to make education more financially accessible. Individuals and corporations have established funds to distribute to students. 

Students can qualify based upon specific criteria such as home of residence, high school, or declared majors. Each scholarship managed by the Cisco College Foundation will result in annual awards beginning at $500 per semester.

The scholarship application process will open in the fall of each year. Check with the Cisco College Financial Aid Office to ensure that you have all your paperwork submitted.

Cisco College Memorial Fund

PROGRAM: Degree or Certificate; non-specific

Grady C. Hogue (1925-1997) was a former President of Cisco College. He also served in the Texas State Legislature. His legacy was established by Mr. and Mrs. I.D. Reynolds in 1964. The Cisco College Memorial Fund was established for granting student scholarships. Applicants must meet the following criteria: Be enrolled at Cisco College in a degree or certificated program; Maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better; and Demonstrate financial need. Enrollment will be verified in the fall semester before dispursement.

Degree or Certificate; Cisco High School Graduate

The Cisco College Class of 1947 established this scholarship in 1993. The legacy of the graduates continues through the ongoing scholarship. Applicants must meet the following criteria: Be enrolled full-time at Cisco College in an academic or career program; Graduated from Cisco High School; Have a 3.0 or better grade point average; and Demonstrate financial need. Awards will be distributed in the fall semester upon verification of enrollment.

The Fred and Kaye Krebs Endowed Scholarship shall be used for the benefit of the students at the Cisco College. Mr. Fred Krebs received his education at a Texas community college. His education resulted in a career in the oil and gas industry. Since his retirement, he has committed to establishing a scholarship at all of the Texas community colleges. He believes that education is a powerful tool to solve and prevent problems. Community colleges are the best bargain in higher education. This scholarship was established on February 3, 2026. Recipients of this scholarship: 1) Must demonstrate financial need or merit; and 2) Shall be selected by the CCF Scholarship Selection Committee. The awardee of this scholarship will receive $1,000 payable after confirmation of enrolled status.

James M. and Sarah Wade (Richardson) Rockwell established an endowed fund for scholarships in 1964. Their legacy continues to provide valuable scholarships to students attending Cisco College. Applicants must meet the following criteria: Be enrolled full-time at Cisco College; Have a 3.0 or better grade point average; and Demonstrate financial need.

Degree; non-specific

The Legacy Scholarship began in 2026 with the Ike and Emma Watts Memorial Scholarship and Robby Robinson Memorial Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to award scholarships to students pursuing an Associates Degree at Cisco College. Each scholarship award will be $500.00 per semester for two consecutive semesters, or $1,000.00 for one academic year. Applicants must meet the following qualifications: Be a resident of Texas; Have graduated high school with a minimum of a 2.5 g.p.a., or be currently enrolled in college with a minimum of a 2.5 g.p.a.; Declare upon enrollment to be a degree-seeking student; Be enrolled at Cisco College with a minimum of 12 credit hours; and Be in satisfactory standing with the college. Student’s enrollment will be verified by September 15 of the fall semester.

Degree; resident of West Texas or Southeastern New Mexico

The M.S. Doss Foundation established the M.S. and Meek Lane Doss Endowed Fund in 2001 to provide scholarships for students attending Cisco College. Applicants must meet the following qualifications: Be a graduate from high school located in West Texas or Southeastern New Mexico; Be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more) at Cisco College; Pursuing an Associates degree; Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better; and Be in good standing with the college. Enrollment will be verified in the fall semester for dispersement of award.

LVN-RN Nursing Program; grant funded

The primary purpose of the Nursing Shortage Reduction Program (NSRP) is to enhance the capacity of nursing education programs in Texas to enroll, retain, and graduate more nursing students. This initiative is a vital part of addressing the ongoing nursing shortage in the state, ensuring the availability of skilled nurses to meet public health needs. In August 2025, Cisco College was awarded a grant to provide scholarships to nursing students who have completed the Licensed Vocational Nursing and continuing into the Associates Degree of Nursing. The grant allows for 10 students each fall and spring semester to be awarded $300.00 towards their education. This scholarship is based on a demonstration of need and a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average.

Degree or Certificate; Cisco High School Graduate

The Ronnie Ledbetter Memorial Scholarship (“the scholarship”) will provide $500.00 for one full-time student. Recipients of this scholarship: 1) Must have graduated from Cisco High School, Cisco, Texas. 2) Must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5. 3) Must be a full-time student at the Cisco campus. 4) Shall be selected by the CCF Scholarship Selection Committee. Ronnie Ledbetter graduated from Cisco High School in 1963 and later married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, in 1982. Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time with his family. He had a deep love for hunting, farming, ranching, traveling, and serving his community. Throughout his life, he was actively involved in numerous civic, professional, and agricultural organizations and took great pride in supporting the town of Cisco. In 1974, Ronnie opened Ledbetter Insurance Agency, establishing a business that reflected his integrity and commitment to service. He served on the Board of Directors of First Financial Bank in the Abilene Region and was a Director of First Financial Bank in Eastland from 2011 to 2017. Ronnie also served as Vice President of the Board of Regents at Cisco College from 1997 to 2021, President of the Cisco Economic Development Corporation, and proudly served as Mayor of Cisco. Ronnie’s leadership extended to many community organizations, including serving as President of the Cisco Lions Club, Cisco Rotary Club, Cisco Chamber of Commerce, Cisco Jaycees, and the West Texas Brangus Breeders Association. Above all, he was a faithful and proud member of First Baptist Church in Cisco. Ronnie’s legacy is one of dedication, service, and love for his family, his faith, and the community he called home.

Degree or Certificate; resident of West Texas

The West Texas Utilities Scholarship was established in 1998. Although WTU no longer exists, the scholarship continues to be a part of Cisco College. Applicants must meet the following qualifications: Be a resident of West Texas (The 70 counties of West Texas are Andrews, Bailey, Borden, Brewster, Brown, Callahan, Cochran, Coke, Coleman, Comanche, Concho, Crane, Crockett, Crosby, Culberson, Dawson, Dickens, Eastland, Ector, El Paso, Fisher, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Glasscock, Hale, Haskell, Hockley, Howard, Hudspeth, Irion, Jeff Davis, Jones, Kent, Kimble, King, Knox, Lamb, Loving, Lubbock, Lynn, Martin, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Midland, Mitchell, Motley, Nolan, Pecos, Presidio, Reagan, Reeves, Runnels, Schleicher, Scurry, Shackelford, Stephens, Sterling, Stonewall, Sutton, Taylor, Terrell, Terry, Throckmorton, Tom Green, Upton, Ward, Winkler, and Yoakum.); Be fully admitted and enrolled full-time at Cisco College; and Be in satisfactory standing with Cisco College. The award will be distributed in the fall semester.

LVN or RN Nursing Program

The Cisco College Board of Regents is pleased to announce the creation of the Howard Andrews Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is intended to reflect the love and respect that Mr. Andrews had for the nursing profession and in particular, Cisco College nursing students. General guidelines for the scholarship are as follows: The scholarship is available to one nursing student for the spring semester and one for the fall semester until the funds are depleted. Students who are accepted into one of the nursing programs at Cisco College are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Each scholarship will be in the amount of $500.00 for the specified semester. The criteria for the recipient selection will be based on upon the completion of an application that will require information concerning, but not limited to, the applicant’s academic excellence and needs. Recipients living in the Abilene area and who are willing to be employed locally after graduation will have first consideration. The scholarship recipient must remain in good standing in their selected program. Each recipient agrees to accept the rules and regulations of Cisco College and the nursing program. Violations may result in the scholarship being revoked. The scholarship application must be submitted by an announced deadline to be eligible for the scholarship.

LVN Nursing Program

Cisco College is pleased to announce and offer the Margaret Arnold Scholarship Program. The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist students in good standing pursuing a certificate in Vocational Nursing. Margaret worked for 34 years as an LVN at Hendrick Hospital. She loved her work and worked so hard that she didn’t take much time for her own needs. She was a very frugal person and because of this, she was able to put up money for her retirement. She retired in 1984 and moved to Anson, Texas. She died Monday, January 6, 1992. Since her death, her niece, Alice Kitchell, has dedicated the earnings of her estate to assistance of nursing students who have financial needs. General Guidelines for the Margaret Arnold Scholarship are as follows: Scholarship applications are available to students who have been admitted to the Vocational Nursing Program and are in good standing with Cisco College. The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to one student in the class admitted in January, one student in the class admitted in May and one student in the class admitted in August. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000.00 to be distributed as $500.00 upon successful completion of the first semester with a grade point average of at least 3.00, and $500.00 upon completion of the second semester with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00. Letters of recommendation from two professors must be submitted with the application.

LVN or RN Nursing Program

Miss Mildred Woody was born in Abilene on January 1, 1924. She went to Travis Elementary and graduated from Abilene High School in 1941. Miss Woody attended Abilene Christian College her freshman year and attended Hardin-Simmons University her sophomore and junior years. She later returned to HSU to complete her masters in 1954. Miss Woody began her teaching career in Cross Plains where she taught for four years. After moving to Abilene, Miss Woody continued teaching at Travis -Elementary where she taught for thirty-two years. During her tenure at Travis Elementary, Miss Woody taught in various areas including homemaking and fifth grade, before finding her true joy in the time she spent teaching second graders. Miss Woody retired from the teaching profession in 1983. Miss Woody has spent numerous hours volunteering in the Abilene community by helping with English as a Second Language and Adult Education. She also volunteered in the resource room at Alta Vista Elementary. Miss Woody has three nieces: Arlene Williams who lives in Abilene, Karen Watson who resides in Baird, and Sandra Runnels in Fort Worth, all daughters of her late sister Margaret. This endowed scholarship is given in memory of Mildred Woody’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Woody. Area to Benefit: Cisco College nursing students Recipient Selection and Awarding Criteria: Scholarship may be awarded to more than one student. Recipient (s) must be students accepted into the nursing program who are pursuing a degree or certificate at Cisco College Abilene Educational Center. Recipient (s) may be rewarded the scholarship on an annual basis if qualifying criteria are maintained. Recipient (s) are to be selected by the Cisco College Instructors of nursing. Recipient (s) must maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to qualify or requalify for the scholarship. Recipients (s} are to maintain an active campus and community life. Recipient (s) must demonstrate significant financial need in order to qualify for the scholarship. Recipient (s} must meet the acceptance standards of the college without any special qualifications or wavier. Recipient (s} must be students in good standing, free from any disciplinary action. Scholarship Recipient(s) must: Maintain an active campus and community life. Demonstrate significant financial need in order to qualify for the scholarship. Criminal Justice Program or Hendrick Home for Children

The Dr. David and Elaine Miller Endowed Scholarship (“the scholarship”), shall be held in perpetuity and used for the benefit of the students at the Cisco College. Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used based on the following criteria:
Recipients of this scholarship:
  1. Must be a client or family staff member in good standing with Hendrick Home for Children of Abilene, TX, and/or pursuing a career in law enforcement.
  2. Must be full-time students.
  3. Shall be selected by the CCF Scholarship Selection Committee.
