Margaret Arnold Scholarship Program
LVN Nursing Program
Cisco College is pleased to announce and offer the Margaret Arnold Scholarship Program. The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist students in good standing pursuing a certificate in Vocational Nursing. Margaret worked for 34 years as an LVN at Hendrick Hospital. She loved her work and worked so hard that she didn’t take much time for her own needs. She was a very frugal person and because of this, she was able to put up money for her retirement. She retired in 1984 and moved to Anson, Texas. She died Monday, January 6, 1992. Since her death, her niece, Alice Kitchell, has dedicated the earnings of her estate to assistance of nursing students who have financial needs. General Guidelines for the Margaret Arnold Scholarship are as follows: Scholarship applications are available to students who have been admitted to the Vocational Nursing Program and are in good standing with Cisco College. The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to one student in the class admitted in January, one student in the class admitted in May and one student in the class admitted in August. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000.00 to be distributed as $500.00 upon successful completion of the first semester with a grade point average of at least 3.00, and $500.00 upon completion of the second semester with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00.
